Ernest Berke, The Lost Colt, 14x11
$350
Ernest Berke (1921-2010) was a painter and sculptor who produced more than 2500 paintings and 80 sculptures over the course of his forty-year career. A self-taught artist and anthropologist, he is a favorite among western art collectors and institutions. Regarding Berke, American Artist magazine said, "Never before has the Old West been depicted from such a sociological and psychological point of view". In this scene, he masterfully captures the body language of its two subjects reflecting the shared sadness of the "Lost Colt". Print is matted and set in custom frame.
