Walter Hook, Moon Over Minot, 14x11
$75
Walter Hook (1919-1989) was born in Missoula, MT to Finnish immigrant parents and was the beloved Chair of the Art Department at the University of Montana from 1955-1977. I confess I had never heard of Hook until I rescued a book about him from a dusty shelf of a used bookstore in Columbia Falls, MT and fell immediately in love with his work. It's one of my favorite styles - regionalism with a just a little dash of weird. It doesn't hurt that he was a native of my home state and I am familiar with some of his more memorable scenes. Print is matted and ready for framing.
